2012 Goals!

Well, I managed to eek by without doing a Christmas post, and thought I could quietly slide into the new year without a obligatory post of goals for the new year, but I've been so inspired reading all of your 2011 recap/2012 goals posts I had to put my own out there.

My 2011 running can be summed up in one word.  Injury.  Read all about it here.

I am so ready for 2012!

Running/fitness goals:

  • Run 1,000 miles in 2012.
  • Run a sub 1:55 half marathon.
  • Get a new 5k PR - current PR 23:17
  • Complete a triathlon.
  • Run Ragnar Madison to Chicago relay.
  • NO MORE STRESS FRACTURES!

    Life goals
    • Join Toastmasters to conquer my fear of public speaking.
    • Pass the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer exam.
    • Focus on getting the kids out of the house for activities during the week.
    • Knock out at least eight items on my "Fear Can Suck It" list.

I have a feeling it's going to be a great year!

If you could accomplish one running/fitness related goal this year, what would it be?

    2. Great goals for the year! No major goals except I'd like to start getting my butt out of bed to work out in the morning. And maybe set a marathon PR. Yep, that would be nice!

    3. My dad joined toastmasters and really is loving it. I know you can do it!

I just want to win the battle with the marathon this year. And then have a ton of fun at Ragnar!

    4. One of my friends joined toastmasters a few years ago, and he LOVES it. He also says that not all clubs are the same, and if you don't like one, try out another.

If I could accomplish one fitness goal this year? 100 mile bike ride. It doesn't have to be a race, as long as I have good company (but a race would be better).

    6. Cheers to an injury free year for you!

Not sure if I've got this for 2012, but I'd love to get me an ultra under my belt.

    7. Thanks for the nice comments! Great goals - can't wait to hear what kind of adventures these goals help to create! :) Two of my running goals are to run a marathon and run a sub 2 hr 1/2 marathon. My best time is 2:04 so I'm pretty sure I can make it happen

    10. I want to run 1000+ miles this year also. Off to a good start. And I want to run my first marathon.

What are you doing for your personal training certification? I don't actually want to take the test, but I'd like to study all the info for myself.
