Chicken Soup Bath!

Good morning!  It is a bright and sunny Tuesday morning in Wisconsin... which is in stark contrast to the forecast for the race this weekend.  My fellow runners and I have been checking the weather obsessively, and yesterday it said "Rain/ Snow Showers/ Wind" and 40 degrees.  Awesome.  ha.

Today, it's quite a bit better - 40 degrees and snow.  I would MUCH rather run in the snow than some sort of rain/sleet garbage.  I know I should stop checking the forecast every 5 minutes, but I'm doing it anyway.  :)

So, my whole family came down with a nasty cold a few weeks ago... and let me tell you, nothing is more difficult than caring for sick kids and a sick husband when you're sick too.  I really missed those days when I could just call into work and lounge around watching crappy daytime TV all day... but then I wouldn't get to see things like this:

Please excuse my scratchy man-voice and my inability to make coherent sentences... sleep deprivation is a funny thing.  :)

Tuesday Track tonight!!  We have another runner joining us... I may have to bring my camera and stalk them for your viewing enjoyment.  I think I'll be having them do ladders - 200, 400, 800, 800, 400, 200, and I may or may not join in.  Really trying to baby my shin before Saturday.

What is your most favorite workout, running or otherwise?

  1. most favorite workout is definitely a LR. I tried the bike for the first time ever yesterday though and actually really loved it. I am hoping that despite my pain recently I can at least keep up with the bike...I was sweating like crazy and it felt good :)

thanks for the positive feedback on FOOTnotes!! I hope that people enjoy it!

I agree about the weather...snow is better than wet nasty cold rain/sleet any day!

have an awesome run tonight :)

  2. Hi! I came over from BabyCenter's Mama Blog list, and love your blog. I'm a big runner myself (favorite workout is a five miler on the beach, to answer your question :)) but since I'm eight months pregnant with twins, I'm not doing too much running these days. Can't wait to get back out on the trails in a few months - how long after your twins did you start running again?

Looking forward to reading more of your posts! I'll be blogging about my girls at http://twinthusiasm.wordpress.com.
